We are in full Halloween mode here at school! We have new tangerine-smelling, pumpkin-colored play dough for making google-eyed creatures (among other things). We’re painting and creating masks. We’re asking what kind of emotions a Jack-o-lantern might have (with loose parts). And we’re scooping, designing and carving (with help) Jack-o-lanterns out of the pumpkins we gathered at our pumpkin patch outing.
It’s been a long time dream to build and open an in-house, anti-bias, play-based preschool. We are finally doing it! My family and I are extremely excited. We’d like to share the process with you. It’s been a year of conceptual planning, architecture, and construction. Our school is ready! We’re now working on our outdoor spaces. Soon we’ll be adding a cedar playhouse, a sand lake, a mud kitchen, and garden beds.
Update: We are an official Certified Family Preschool! We are ready for visitors and now enrolling for the 2019/2020 school year (school begins July 1). Please come visit us!
